Hawaii sophomore Kolten Wong was named to the Louisville Slugger Preseason All-America third team yesterday.

The 2009 Western Athletic Conference freshman of the year hit .341 with 11 homers and 52 RBIs in his first season with the Rainbows.

Wong spent last summer playing for the USA Baseball national team.

Fresno State second baseman Danny Muno was named to the first team. He hit .379 last year and is considered an excellent defensive infielder. The only other WAC player selected was New Mexico State second baseman Mike Sodders, who was named to the second team.

Hawaii opens its 2010 season on Feb. 19 against Oregon State, which was ranked 10th in the Collegiate Baseball preseason poll.
