Western Athletic Conference player of the year Kanani Danielson headlines four Hawaii women's volleyball players selected to the AVCA All-West Region team yesterday.

Seniors Amber Kaufman and Aneli Cubi-Otineru and junior setter Dani Mafua were also selected.

It's the second time Cubi-Otineru and Mafua have earned the honor and first for Kaufman and Danielson, who was named the All-West Region freshman of the year a season ago.

Also, Hawaii coach Dave Shoji was named AVCA Division I West Region coach of the year.

The third-ranked Rainbow Wahine (30-2) face No. 8 Illinois tomorrow.
