Continental Airlines will offer new service between Honolulu and Nadi, Fiji, later this month, and in the spring the carrier will launch new service between Maui and Orange County while increasing its four-times-weekly service to daily service between Honolulu and Orange County.

Service between Honolulu and Fiji will begin Dec. 18. The new domestic flights, which will utilize a 124-seat Boeing 737-700, will begin service March 7 to coincide with Continental's previously announced service between Maui and Los Angeles and a second daily flight between Honolulu and Los Angeles.

“;Hawaii continues to be a popular travel destination for our customers,”; said Jeff Moken, Continental's Honolulu general manager. “;We are operating the new flights with the right-sized aircraft for the market and are confident this new service will be a success.”;

The new neighbor island flight will depart Maui's Kahului Airport at 11:10 p.m. and arrive at John Wayne Airport at 7:45 a.m. the next day, except on Saturdays, when it will depart 40 minutes later. The return flight will depart Orange County at 5:20 p.m. and arrive on Maui at 8:05 p.m. During the summer, Continental could expand to daily Maui/Orange County service.

Continental's fight between Honolulu Airport and John Wayne Airport will depart at 1 p.m., arriving in Orange County at 9:35 p.m. The return flight will depart Orange County at 9 a.m. and arrive in Honolulu at 11:45 a.m.
