Celebrate surfing in Waimea Valley

Surf apparel company Hurley and 420 North celebrate “;1,000 years of surfing”; tonight with an evening of music, dance and culture at Waimea Valley Park.

The “;Island Music Festival”; will be hosted by Primo's Erin Bunda, with performances by Shine Sirius, Sherriff Brown, RuffDemand and Stone Brethren. The Mana Maoli all-star band—which includes members of Natural Vibrations, Sudden Rush, Lahaina Grown, Moemoea and Dubkoncious—also is scheduled to perform at this 18-and-over event.

Fair to fund athletic equipment for keiki

Sports plays an important role in the lives of Hawaii's keiki, and the Ewa Beach Lions Club along with the Hawaii Ohana 4 Ewa Foundation are doing their part to make sure the next generation of athletes have the equipment they need.

Tomorrow's first annual “;96706 Kick-Off Concert”; is an all-ages, non-alcoholic day-long event that will feature some of Hawaii's top musical groups. Na Hoku Hanohano Award-winners Rebel Souljahz will be on hand, along with Nesian N.I.N.E., Ilona Irvine, Kolohe Kai, Smooth Groove and more.

In addition to the entertainment, a full compliment of food booths, craft vendors and keiki jumping castles will be available.
