Unidentified woman found dead at beach

An unidentified woman was found dead yesterday at Ala Moana Beach Park.

Police said a witness reported finding the woman's lifeless body partially submerged at about 6:45 a.m.

Paramedics pronounced her dead at the scene. Medical officials did not identify her yesterday. Police said there were no suspicious circumstances.

 

Man accused in attempt to sell back stolen item

A 20-year-old Waikele man was charged yesterday with allegedly trying to sell a stolen item back to its owner through Craigslist.

At about 5 p.m. Saturday, Benedict B. Fuentes of Lumiaina Street met with a 34-year-old man in Mililani to sell an item that was posted on the Web site, police said. The victim found that the item was his, stolen last Monday in a car break-in. Fuentes was charged yesterday with third-degree theft and held on $1,000 bail.

 

Witnesses rescue teen from Ko Olina waters

Bystanders helped rescue a boy who nearly drowned at Ko Olina.

Bryan Cheplic, Honolulu Emergency Services Department spokesman, said bystanders pulled the boy, age 13 or 14, from near-shore waters at Lagoon 3 yesterday afternoon.

Paramedics took him in serious condition to a hospital, Cheplic said.

 

Man is charged in fondling incident

A 25-year-old man was charged Friday with sexually assaulting a 28-year-old woman at Kaena Point.

Police said the woman reported the man held against her will and touched her inappropriately at about 10 a.m. Thursday. Jason Fujioka was arrested and charged with third-degree sexual assault. He was being held on $100,000 bail.
