CRIB NOTES

Raise spirits with Santa apron

On photo shoot day, women in the newsroom thought Pier 1 Import's Santa apron was just a fun cover-up that could double as a novelty frock. The guys, however, had visions of lingerie dancing in their heads. So you're sure to cook up some holiday cheer either way if you throw a holiday party wearing one of these.

Made of 100 percent cotton, it's machine washable, making it wearable for many Christmases to come. Makes a great hostess gift at about $24. Hurry, supplies are limited.

Colorful containers make recycling easier

During your holiday bash, hide those lawn trash bags in the closet and put out these colorful, party-ready recycling trash containers from Design Within Reach.

It's the season of green and red, but the emphasis is surely on being environmentally green, and these are an attractive alternative to the frumpy trash bag that may encourage party guests to get with the program.

Sold in a set of four for $30 and color-coded for visual cues when separating cans from bottles and paper, they are made of industrial-strength tarpaulin and are waterproof so they can be cleaned with a garden hose.

Order them at the Design Within Reach showroom, Ala Moana Center, or online at dwr.com. They take about a week to arrive, but you'll get half off shipping through Dec. 11 when you call the store to order items less than $250. Call 941-2112.
