CLARIFICATION

» Hawaii's overall rate for premature births (before 37 weeks) was 12.4 percent in 2007 compared with 12.2 percent in 2005. Late pre-term births (34 to 36 weeks), linked to rising rates of early induced labor and Caesarean sections, rose to 9.1 percent from 8.6 percent. The late pre-term birth rate was not identified in a Page 11 article Wednesday.
