Youth contest promotes World AIDS Day

Young adults under age 25 are invited to create artwork, poetry, a short film or essay on the theme “;Let Your Choice Be Heard,”; focusing on choices young adults make that affect their chances of becoming HIV- infected.

Life Foundation of Honolulu, which provides testing and counseling to residents with HIV/AIDS, is sponsoring the World AIDS Day Youth Leadership Challenge.

Entries, due by Friday, can be submitted online to www.worldaidsdayhawaii..org.

Prizes will be awarded Dec. 1 at the 2009 World AIDS Day ceremony at St. Clement's Church.

Participants will be split into high school (ninth to 12th grades) and college (ages 18 to 25).
