Fight erupts at accident ending in 2 arrests

Police arrested a 20-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman Sunday and were searching for two men yesterday in what began as a motor vehicle accident.

Police said the female suspect and a 23-year-old man got into an accident in Kalihi at about 5:12 p.m. and stopped at a parking lot to exchange information.

While stopped, three men got out of the woman's car, and the male suspect allegedly punched the male driver, who remained seated in the driver's seat, police said.

A second man allegedly punched a 23-year-old male passenger, who was seated in the front passenger seat.

During the confrontation, police said, a third man allegedly kicked the woman's car, damaging a rear door. The four suspects fled in their car.

Police later found the 20-year-old man and arrested him on suspicion of first-degree unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle. The woman was also arrested on suspicion of fleeing the scene of an accident.

Police continued to search for the two other men.
