HEAVY SIDE EFFECT

Not so fast with those meds for kids

The news that children can become obese and sedentary after less than three months on widely used psychiatric drugs makes it essential that the drugs are prescribed only as a last resort.

The study that documented the rapid weight gain, and the associated health risks of obesity, applies to medications prescribed to 2 million kids nationwide. The drugs once were primarily used to treat schizophrenia and bipolar disorder but now are increasingly tried on kids who have autism, attention deficit disorder and other behavioral problems.

THIS IS IT

King of Pop's last hurrah

The reviews are in, and it seems the new MJ movie “;This Is It”; is a hit.

The docudrama, cobbled from more than 100 hours of rehearsal footage of what would've been Michael Jackson's comeback concert tour, is riveting and visually engaging, most reviewers say. A note to fans of 1992's “;Rolling Stones at the Max”;: MJ's movie is also being screened in IMAX.

SWEET REVENGE

The Phillies man up and take down the Yanks

Maui native and Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Shane Victorino took in jest Tuesday's New York Post front page, left, that placed his image atop the legs of a cheerleader next to the headline, “;Gotham Trembles: The Frillies are coming to town!”; That is, until a Post photographer lifted the cover with one hand and raised his camera with the other at a news conference. “;Shane, could you ...?”; started Post photog Jimmy Rollins. “;No. I'm not holding that up, bro,”; Victorino cut him off. After Rollins left the room, Victorino called him a “;clown.”;

Victorino and his Phillies took their revenge yesterday, as they beat the New York Yankees, 6-1, in Game 1 of the World Series in the new Yankee Stadium. Victorino was his team's fourth run in.

Game 2 will be played today at 2 p.m., again in New York. Stay tuned for more shenanigans, on and off the field.
