DANVILLE, Ind. » Relatives of a former Kauai beauty queen fatally stabbed while in bed with her two daughters told a judge they considered her estranged husband a coldblooded killer.

A Hendricks County, Indiana, judge imposed yesterday the 55-year prison sentence that Joseph Warnock agreed to last month when he pleaded guilty to the murder of Angela Warnock, 38. Authorities say Warnock had taken drugs when he used a 12-inch steak knife in attacking Warnock two days after she filed for divorce. Their daughters, ages 8 and 12 at the time, were not injured during the June 21 attack in the Indianapolis suburb of Brownsburg. Warnock, 41, apologized in court for the killing.

Angela Warnock was Miss Kauai in 1990. She was born in Indiana but attended St. Catherine's School in Kapaa as a child. She moved to Indiana after Hurricane Iniki and had planned to move back to Kauai with her children after the divorce, family members said.
