Farrington game moved

Friday's OIA Red East football showdown between Kahuku and Farrington has been moved to Aloha Stadium.

Kickoff remains 30 minutes after the 5 p.m. JV game.

Farrington's home games are normally played at Ticky Vasconcellos Stadium.

Top-ranked Kahuku is 6-0 and No. 4-ranked Farrington is 5-0.

The Govs had a nonconference game canceled this season when Word of Life withdrew from their scheduled matchup.

Brown feeling the blues

Last year, Radford's football fortunes declined when quarterback Doug Brown suffered an injury.

Last Friday, Brown went down early in the Rams' loss to Aiea. He was hit by a helmet to the chin and needed 20 stitches to close up the wounds.

“;I thought his chin was going to fall off,”; Radford coach Fred Salanoa said. “;But he's actually practicing today, not wearing any pads. He's like a cat. He has nine lives.”;

Up and down at Roosevelt

Roosevelt's win over Castle more than two weeks ago stirred up the OIA Red East football race, but the Rough Riders haven't quite been the same since.

Roosevelt fell to 1-4 in league play (2-5 overall) after a loss to Kailua last Saturday.

Roosevelt was missing some key players. Coach Pat Silva said disciplinary measures were necessary in recent weeks.
