Aerosmith performs next month

Looks like Aerosmith fans won't have to wait until 2010 for the band to make good on postponed concerts in Honolulu and on Maui.

The Grammy Award-winning band announced Monday that it had rescheduled the two Hawaii shows after determining that lead singer Steven Tyler was ready to resume performing. He was injured during a performance at the annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in South Dakota last month and received nearly two dozen stitches to his head afterward.

According to promoters Tom Moffatt and Shep Gordon, the rescheduled concerts will take place Oct. 18 at Blaisdell Arena and Oct. 20 at Maui's War Memorial Stadium. Tickets for the Oahu show are priced at $75, $95 and $195 and go on sale at 9 a.m. tomorrow at all Ticketmaster outlets.

Tickets for the Maui performance, priced at $65, $85 and $125, don't go on sale to the general public until Oct. 1 at 10 a.m. Maui Arts & Cultural Center donors will be able to purchase them tomorrow at 10 a.m. ...

ALONG WITH Aerosmith, there are lots of great concerts coming up in October.

Old-school hip-hop fans will be happy all month, with De La Soul and Biz Markie at Aloha Tower Marketplace on Oct. 3, followed by Public Enemy at Pipeline Cafe on Halloween. It also promises to be a good month for stand-up comedy, with Jo Koy at Pipeline on Oct. 2 and 3, followed by Steve Byrne on Oct. 13 at the nightclub and Cedric the Entertainer at Blaisdell Arena on Oct. 17.

Other notable shows on deck include the Kottonmouth Kings and Children of Bodom at Pipeline on Oct. 7 and 14, respectively; The Wailers at Wet 'N' Wild Hawaii on Oct. 16; and Aswad, Collie Buddz, Ky-Mani Marley and Tanya Stephens at the Waikiki Shell on Oct. 24 ...

WEEKEND PICKS: Former Death Row Records recording artists Kurupt and Daz Dillinger are still pushing hard in the hip-hop world, and will make an appearance tonight at Black Diamond Nightclub in the Waikiki Trade Center. Dillinger is currently the more active of the Dogg Pound members, having just announced the release of his independent album, “;Public Enemiez,”; via a YouTube video earlier this week.
