Hawaii's Bacalso advances at Trestles

Hawaii surfer Kekoa Bacalso beat Australia's Chris Davidson 12.50 to 10.46 in the third round of the Hurley Pro surf contest at Trestles in San Clemente, Calif.

Bacalso will meet nine-time world champion Kelly Slater in fourth round of the Association of Surfing Professionals World Tour event.

Another Hawaii surfer, Roy Powers, will meet Taylor Knox in the fourth round.

Buxton is PacWest Runner of Week

Brigham Young-Hawaii sophomore Katherine Buxton was named the PacWest Runner of the Week after her performance in the Hawaii Pacific University Invitational.

Buxton, of Gettysburg, Pa., finished fifth overall and first among PacWest runners in finishing the course at Kualoa Ranch in 18 minutes, 51 seconds.
