Eat and earn at Ala Moana

Take a break from the kitchen and earn a $10 Ala Moana gift card through the end of the month by dining at select eateries at the center.

Pineapple Room celebrates

It's been a decade since the Pineapple Room opened its doors at Macy's Ala Moana, and the restaurant is celebrating with refreshed decor and a special event benefiting Hawaii's Plantation Village.

Instructor offers raw truth

Sylvia Thompson of Licious Dishes holds another gourmet raw cooking class on Sunday, teaching how to use tools of the raw kitchen to make Onion Flat Bread; Basil, Tomato, Olive and Zucchini Spaghetti; Zucchini Linguini with Noni Alfredo and Marinated Mushrooms; and Kafir Papaya and Banana Taffy with Raspberry Swirls.

The class runs 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Susan Palmer's Design Center at Dole Cannery. Fee is $45 and includes a lunch with each dish. Space is limited; call 536-9680.

Yogurt for the cure

In its 11th year of supporting breast cancer awareness, Yoplait continues its “;Save Lids to Save Lives”; program. The company will donate 10 cents to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure organization for every special pink lid sent in from Yoplait's 6-ounce yogurts. The pink lids are available through October, which is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Lids will be accepted through December. Yoplait will donate up to $1.5 million to the cause. Details: yoplait.com/slsl.
