Man critically injured in assault outside club

A 41-year-old McCully man was arrested Saturday night for allegedly assaulting a 20-year-old man outside a Waikiki nightclub.

Police said the suspect escorted the victim out of the nightclub at 11:05 p.m., but the victim refused to leave the area. When the victim attempted to re-enter the nightclub, the suspect punched the man, who fell and injured his head, said police.

The victim was transported to the Queen's Medical Center in critical condition, while the suspect was identified and arrested outside of Lotus Soundbar. The case is under investigation.

 

1 injured and 2 arrested after footbridge fight

A 28-year-old Kapaa man was airlifted from Kauai to Straub Clinic & Hospital after he was seriously injured in an assault.

The man was in stable condition, a Kauai County news release said.

At about 2 a.m. yesterday the man was in an altercation on the footbridge between Duke's Canoe Club and Kalapaki Beach.

Police arrested two Kailua-Kona men on suspicion of second-degree assault.

Man allegedly snatches bag in Waipahu assault

Police arrested a 21-year-old man who allegedly robbed a 34-year-old man Saturday in Waipahu.

Ku J. Temoananui, who has no local address, was held on $15,000 bail after he was charged with second-degree robbery in connection with the case.

Shortly before 3 p.m., Temoananui assaulted the victim and robbed him of his bag, police said. Police arrested Temoananui on Pupupuhi Street.

 

Woman sprains ankle while on Waahila Trail

Firefighters rescued a woman who sprained her ankle while hiking Waahila Trail near St. Louis Heights.

At about 3:30 p.m. yesterday a fire helicopter lifted the woman from the trail and dropped her off at Noelani Elementary, where paramedics were waiting, said Honolulu Fire Capt. Robert Main.
