Bistro's opening benefits charity

The grand opening of Assaggio Bistro Kahala this week will be a fundraiser for the Aloha United Way.

The event—titled “;Good Living, Good Giving”;—will be held Monday and Tuesday at the new restaurant across from Kahala Mall next to Umeke Market.

All proceeds on those days will be donated to the United Way.

The Assaggio chain of Italian restaurants was founded by Thomas and Siri Ky. They share ownership of the Kahala restaurant with a group of longtime Assaggio employees.
