Fashion's night out

By

POSTED: Thursday, September 03, 2009

Not everyone can make the trip to New York for the 2010 Fashion Week shows that begin Sept. 10, but Ala Moana Center retailers aim to bring some of the energy and excitement here by joining in support of Fashion's Night Out.

The center is Hawaii's official site for the event, sponsored by Vogue magazine and the Council of Fashion Designers of America, and more than 50 of its retailers will be participating with the offering of special trunk shows, informal modeling, champagne or cocktail receptions and gift-with-purchase incentives.

The international celebration of fashion, conceived by Anna Wintour and Diane Von Furstenberg, will be taking place in cities around the globe to help promote retailing, in light of the industry's recent struggles.
