BEAUTY SPOT

Celebrity skin care can be yours

In just a few years, Beauty by Clinica Ivo Pitanguy has come to be known as the skin-care brand of stars and royalty, used by Queen Elizabeth, Japan's Princess Kiko, French first lady Carla Bruni Sarkozy, Nancy Reagan and Katie Holmes.

The line is the work of Ivo Pitanguy, who founded the clinic in Rio de Janeiro in 1963 to provide global VIPs with esthetic treatments and cosmetic surgery in a private setting, according to press materials.

The spa background led to development of skin- care products made with vegetable extracts from plants harvested in an environmentally friendly and sustainable way, the company claims.

The PreVious line of skin care offers serums and lifting products that accommodate dry to mixed skin, as well as skin showing signs of aging.

Considering its origins in body-conscious Rio, the company more recently introduced its BodYcare line, including exfoliating and firming formulas, plus products addressing such target areas as the hands, legs and bust.

Prices range from $105 for the BodYcare Hands Beauty Formula to $320 for PreVious Instant Lifting Cure.

The line is available at Neiman Marcus.
