Mililani man, 26, arrested in fight with ex-girlfriend

Police arrested a 26-year-old Mililani man Sunday night after he allegedly kicked his 26-year-old ex-girlfriend and later chased after her in a vehicle and forced her off the road.

Police said the woman reported that her ex-boyfriend kicked her several times during an argument over visitation rights of their 2-month-old baby girl in Mililani, so she left in her vehicle with their daughter.

The man then chased her and allegedly used his vehicle to sideswipe her vehicle and force her off the road at about 6:30 p.m. Sunday, police said.

The woman received minor injuries but refused medical treatment, police said.

Police arrested the man on suspicion of first-degree criminal property damage and abuse of a household member.

Hiker with ankle injury rescued from Kauai valley

A 29-year-old Kalaheo man who injured his ankle hiking the Kalalau Trail on Kauai's North Shore was airlifted to safety Sunday night.

The man was picked up by helicopter in Hanakoa Valley and flown to Princeville Airport at about 5:31 p.m., county officials said. He was taken to Wilcox Hospital. His condition was unknown.

The man had been hiking with a friend when the injury occurred.
