» Incoming University of Hawaii President M.R.C. Greenwood starts Aug. 24. A photo caption on Page 9 yesterday said she started yesterday. The online edition has been corrected.

» Keahi Denne-Kimi hit a home run for Hilo in a loss to Kailua in the Little League state championships. A story on Page 58 yesterday said Joshua Breitbarth hit the home run. Also, Waipio beat Kailua 5-3, not 5-0 as was reported in the same story. The online edition has been corrected.

» Dylan Tawata was the winning pitcher in Mid-Pacific's win over Moanalua in the American Legion state tournament. A listing on Page 58 Thursday had Lawrence Chew as the winning pitcher. The online edition has been corrected.

» The name of Nebraska football player Dave Rimington was misspelled in a subheadline on Page 64 yesterday.

CORRECTION

» In addition to a 10 percent pay cut this month, University of Hawaii President David McClain will forego the president's salary of $372,600 that he is entitled to when he takes a yearlong sabbatical next month. He will rejoin the faculty at an annual salary of $250,000 and will accept the same percentage pay cut as other faculty members. A front-page headline yesterday was misleading. Also, new UH President M.R.C. Greenwood takes office Aug. 24, not Saturday, as stated in a correction yesterday.
