Autopsy due for boy found in trunk

The Honolulu Medical Examiner's office will do an autopsy today on a 4-year-old boy found in the trunk of a car.

The boy's name has not yet been released.

Police said that before 3:30 p.m. Saturday the boy went out to play as his mother cleaned the house. When she could not find the boy, her brother drove around the neighborhood in search. He saw a warning light on the dashboard and, checking the tail lights, found the toddler unconscious in the trunk.

The boy was taken to Hawaii Medical Center West, where he died.

 

Teenager found unconscious in pool

A boy almost drowned yesterday afternoon after being found unconscious in an Iroquois Point recreational complex pool.

Honolulu Fire Department spokesman Earle Kealoha said that an unidentified boy “;in his teens”; was found in a pool at 91-1055 Polea Street around 5:30 p.m. Police and fire personnel performed CPR.

The boy was transported to Hawaii Medical Center, where he was listed in critical condition.

 

4 men arrested in sex assault at hotel

Police arrested four men yesterday on suspicion of sexually assaulting a 25-year-old woman in a Waikiki hotel room.

The woman told police that the four men, who did not have local addresses, assaulted her at about 2:20 a.m.

The four men—ages 21, 22, 23 and 37—were arrested at Waikiki Resort Hotel, 2460 Koa Ave., on suspicion of first-degree sexual assault. They were released pending investigation.
