Lamb is center of tapas offering

Chef Keith Endo of Vino Italian Tapas is presenting a communal dinner on July 23 featuring spring lamb from Maui's Ulupalakua Ranch.

The menu includes lamb sausage with Hamakua tomato, lemon and mint orzo; braised lamb shoulder, shredded and tossed with porcini mushroom pappardelle; and seared lamb chops with red wine risotto and Swiss chard.

Cost is $35. Reservations only, call 533-4476.

 

Fukui to show off three courses

Pay a visit to the kitchen at Hiroshi Eurasion Tapas for the “;Chef's Table with Hiroshi”; dinner on July 28. Hiroshi Fukui will demonstrate three courses. The dinner includes dessert.

Cost is $49. Reservations required; call 533-4476. Participants will receive a 20-percent-off coupon for their next visit to Hiroshi or Vino.

 

Wong features chef Watanabe

Alan Wong's Honolulu again presents the “;Next Generation”; dinner, this time featuring chef de cuisine Derek Watanabe.

The July 29 dinner will include seared foie gras and ahi tuna “;club sandwich,”; panko-crusted scallop uni sausage with mitsuba and tarragon and Kau coffee curry duck.

Dessert by pastry chef Michelle Karr will be a Makaha Mango Trio.

California wines a pairing accent

Master Sommelier Roberto Viernes and Wolfgang's Steakhouse will feature California wines at a July 29 dinner.

Pairings include oysters with 2002 Roederer Estate l'Ermitage Brut; Wolfgang's crab cake, 2007 Brewer Clifton “;Seasmoke Vineyard”; Chardonnay; grilled wild salmon with Canadian bacon, 2006 Evening Lands “;Occidental Vineyard”; Pinot Noir; and prime New York sirloin, 2004 Harlan Estate.

Seating is at 6:30 p.m. Cost is $175. Limited seating; call 922-3600.
