Healthy baby search begins

Meadow Gold Dairies has started its search for its annual Healthy Baby Contest. Parents can register their keiki online at http://www.lanimoo.com through Aug. 23 and take their first steps toward great prizes and, possibly, the Healthy Baby crown.

The Healthy Baby Contest has been an island tradition since 1953. This year there will also be an online People's Choice photo contest open only to the top 50 finalists. The public will be invited to log on to Meadow Gold's Web site in September and vote for their favorite finalist.

The contest will take place in September, with hundreds of toddlers competing. The keiki are judged on physical appearance, healthiness and personality, with each category scored on a 50-point scale. The preliminary rounds narrow the field to 50 finalists.

In the final round, the five highest-scoring babies are each awarded a U.S. savings bond ranging from $500 to $2,500 from Meadow Gold Dairies of Hawaii as well as numerous toys and prizes. A full listing of rules and additional information is provided at www.lanimoo.com.
