Ribs dress up holiday buffet

The Plumeria Beach House at Kahala Hotel & Resorts is offering an American buffet, with an island twist, on the Fourth of July.

The menu includes mesquite-smoked pulehu beef, guava-honey barbecue baby back ribs, grilled Kahuku corn on the cob, cheeseburgers, hot dogs and baked beans, oysters Rockefeller and apple pie ala mode.

Jamon salad tops Spanish dinner

Brasserie Du Vin focuses on “;Spanish Splendor”; for it's weekly three-course wine dinner Monday.

The meal starts off with salad of jamon, fresh strawberries, arugula, house-made ricotta cheese, paired with Cordoniu Sparkling Rose NV, Penedes. The second course is maple-marinated grilled quail with fig couscous, paired with Carchelo Monastrell 2007, Jumilla. The third course: slow-roasted prime rib with horseradish demi and Nalo Farms green salad with yellow zebra tomatoes, paired with Quinto do Crasto 2005, Douro.

Seating is at 6 p.m.; cost is $49. For reservations and menus in July, call 545-1115.

Also: Du Vin hosts weekly wine tastings, featuring six to eight wines, every Wednesday at 6 p.m. Cost is $20. Reservations required.
