The Western Athletic Conference men and women's basketball tournaments are headed to Las Vegas for two years starting in 2011, league commissioner Karl Benson is expected to announce today.

The 8,500-seat Orleans Arena will host the tourneys, which will be at a neutral venue for the first time since the Delta Center in Salt Lake City in 1994.

The move should appease coaches — particularly Utah State's Stew Morrill — who've griped in the past about unfair advantages granted to host teams.

Hawaii coach Bob Nash favors neutral sites, and was impressed with The Orleans' facilities when the WAC coaches toured them recently.

“;One team shouldn't have an advantage over the other,”; Nash said. “;It should be equal, so I'm definitely in favor of playing on a neutral site.”;
