Fanny Pak headlines at 50th State Fair

The 50th State Fair enters its second to the last weekend of family fun this weekend, with live entertainment headlined by mainland dance crew Fanny Pak from the MTV show “;America's Best Dance Crew.”;

This is the second visit to Hawaii this year for Fanny Pak, who performed alongside So Real Cru on Maui and at Blaisdell Arena on Oahu in January. One of the group's members, Cara Horibe, is a Castle High School graduate and former University of Hawaii Rainbow Dancer.

Reggae bands help Mai Tai Bar celebrate

The Mai Tai Bar at Ala Moana Center is celebrating its 10th anniversary this month, with a special musical celebration planned for the actual anniversary date on Monday.

There's never a cover charge at the Mai Tai Bar, so they've thanked loyal customers with happy hour prices all day on Mondays in June. The bar is also accepting entries for a free Las Vegas trip for four, courtesy of Vacations Hawaii.

In honor of the actual anniversary date, Ooklah the Moc will perform from 10 p.m. to midnight on Monday; the party will continue for one more week when Natural Vibrations plays from 10 p.m. to midnight June 29.
