Keeping kittens safe can be a challenge

QUESTION: I just brought home some kittens, and they get into everything. How do I keep them safe?

ANSWER: First, go green - eliminate or lock away toxins from weed killer to insecticides. Kittens are fascinated by all of them. Get rid of plastic bags, too, as they can suffocate a kitten who decides to play inside one. Next, put away sharp things such as scissors, pins and knives. They all look like toys to playful kittens.

And monitor your kitten carefully near a full sink or bathtub, or around electrical outlets. They're all a source of danger.
