Wie ties for third at Sybase

Honolulu's Michelle Wie moved to 15th on the LPGA Tour money list with yesterday's tie for third with Paula Creamer at the Sybase Classic in Clifton, N.J.

Wie closed with a 1-over 73 in blustery conditions for a four-day total of 8-under 280 that left her six shots off the pace of South Korea's Ji Young Oh (70), who had a 14-under 274. It was the second win of her career.

The Punahou School graduate managed only three birdies against two bogeys and a costly double bogey at the 12th. She earned $118,824 to bring her season total to $290,653.

“;I really felt pretty good,”; Wie said. “;My putting felt a lot better today, but I couldn't get the irons close to the hole.”;

For the tournament, Wie hit only 29 out of 56 fairways, averaged 272 yards off the tee, managed a modest 49 greens in regulation and needed 114 putts.
