The Contemporary Museum received a $30,000 Access to Artistic Excellence matching grant from the National Endowment for the Arts to support the publication of a handbook of selected works in the museum's permanent collection.


Nathan Nass, an enthnomusicology graduate student at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, won the inaugural Kim Ch'on-Hung Memorial Fund endowed scholarship, marking the 100th anniversary of the Korean dancer and musician's birth. The fund assists students pursuing a degree with a focus on Korean dance or music.


Punahou School won $1,000 as one the top 16 high schools in the Department of Energy's National Science Bowl in Washington, D.C.


Marriott's Ko Olina Beach Club's “;3-on-3 Annual Basketball Tournament Fundraiser”; in April raised $6,825 for the Kapiolani Children's Miracle Network.
