BEAUTY SPOT

Bulgari's new skin-care line a gem

Throughout human history, people have believed in the spiritual and healing powers of gems and crystals.

Over time, such beliefs became the domain of New Agers, who clung to the notion that gems and crystals act as amplifiers for energy, imparting precious life forces when they come into contact with living beings.

Could it be that science is catching up?

Bulgari seems to think so. The company recently unveiled its skin-care line, Bvlgari Gem Essence, which utilizes a formula containing micronized powders of four fine and precious gemstones: sapphire, malachite, tourmaline and citrine. Within each are minerals such as copper, iron, magnesium and zinc, needed by cells for optimal collagen and elastin production while adding luminosity.

The products are available at Neiman Marcus.

CELEBRITY CRIB

Trias forever loves her 'Dolly'

If Jasmine Trias had to pick a favorite item from her home, it would have to be her “;Rainbow Brite Baby Brite”; doll she calls 'Dolly.'

The former “;American Idol”; contestant travels frequently between Hawaii and the mainland, working on her music career, and having the doll is as good as taking home with her where ever she goes.

Trias shares her thoughts about 'Dolly':

“;I've had it since as long I can remember. It was a present to me from my Aunty Aida during my toddler years.

“;Many children grow up with a security blanket and usually grow out it ... but my Rainbow Brite doll was my security doll, and I have to admit, it still is.

“;My career has given me the opportunity to travel quite often and my doll is with me wherever I go. It brings me comfort and peace, especially when I'm homesick or going through a terrible time. I don't think I'll ever be able to get rid of it or even grow out of it. I'll forever love my Dolly!”;

Trias is currently in Las Vegas rehearsing with the original Society of Seven as they prepare to open on the Las Vegas strip at a new venue, which they hope will be permanent. The target opening date will be sometime late this month or early next. She's also working on her second album in Los Angeles.
