Jason “;Mayhem”; Miller could fight in just about any mixed martial arts organization he wants.

But when the opportunity to headline T. Jay Thompson's debut KINGDOM MMA event arose, Miller felt it was the least he could do.

“;I owe pretty much everything I have now to Hawaii and T. Jay,”; Miller said. “;That's one of the main reasons I'm back here.”;

        Jason Miller's notable wins in Hawaii:

» TKO victory over Egan Inoue at SuperBrawl 32

» Submission victory over Mark Moreno at SuperBrawl: Icon

» Submission victory over Niko Vitale at Icon Sport: Opposites Attract

» Submission win over Robbie Lawler at Icon Sport: Mayhem vs. Lawler

The former Icon Sport middleweight champion will fight in Hawaii for the first time in two years when he faces Kala Kolohe Hose in the main event of tonight's mixed martial arts card at the Blaisdell Arena.

Miller, who first came to Hawaii to fight in 2003, made his name by running through local fighter after local fighter. In a four-fight stretch from '03 to '05, he beat Egan Inoue, Ron Jhun, Mark Moreno and Niko Vitale to begin his ascent to where he is now one of the most popular MMA fighters in the world.

“;T. Jay (Thompson) gave me a shot when I was a young kid to be able to succeed,”; Miller said. “;He wasn't thinking I was going to, but I did. They gave me a chance to build something here and I did.”;

Miller's ability, mixed with his unmistakable personality, has given him one of the biggest followings in MMA. His wacky YouTube videos became a hit in the underground MMA community, and got him a job hosting a new reality show on MTV called “;Bully Beatdown.”;

Just four episodes into the first season, Miller's popularity has skyrocketed to the point that he can't leave his house without being recognized.

“;Now I can't even go to the shopping mall without someone asking me to beat up their cousin,”; said Miller, whose MTV show is based on kids who were beat up in school getting revenge on those bullies by having them fight real MMA fighters.

Because of the show, Miller hasn't fought since June of last year. He's looking to reverse that trend with more fights in the near future and points out he still has plenty of lofty goals in MMA.

“;I want to be a titleholder in all of the major organizations,”; Miller said. “;But right now, the be all end all is Saturday.”;

While Miller has been away, Hose has become the next big name among the top local fighters. His fifth-round TKO victory over Phil Baroni is one of the most memorable fights at the Blaisdell Arena, and he also gained stardom with a one-punch knockout of Frederic Belleton on Showtime.

A polar opposite to Miller, Hose is a man of few words, but his strategy is simple.

“;Avoid the ground as much as possible,”; he said.

Miller is the heavy favorite going into the fight, with Hose an underdog like he was vs. Baroni.

“;Mayhem”; has the clear advantage on the ground, but has promised to stand and trade with Hose.

“;I'm a mixed martial artist and I think I can beat him in every phase,”; Miller said.

Preliminary bouts will get under way at 7:30 p.m. with the main event expected to start at approximately 9:15 p.m.
