Isle construction firm purchased

Ikaika Inc., a Hawaii utility construction company, has been purchased by Tyrone, Ga.-based Osmose Utilities Services for an undisclosed price.

All of Ikaika's employees will be joining Osmose, the company said.

Tony Gregory, the owner of Ikaika, will report to Phil Halsch, director of sales and operations for Osmose in Hawaii.

Osmose, which will continue to use the Ikaika name, offers a variety of utility services targeted to inspection, maintenance and rehabilitation of transmission and distribution infrastructure.

Starwood Hotels & Resorts Hawaii has hired Alvin Wong to be director of sales and marketing for Sheraton Kauai Resort and the Westin Princeville Ocean Resort Villas. He has more than 20 years' experience in the travel hospitality industry, including director of marketing for the Hilton Grand Vacations Club, director of sales and marketing at Renaissance Ilikai Waikiki Hotel and regional director of sales and marketing for Hawaii Prince Hotel and Maui Prince Hotel.

Architectural engineering firm Allana Buick & Bers has announced that employees Ryan Meyer and Debbie Espino received the LEED Accredited Professional designation awarded by the U.S. Green Building Council.
