Ranua hired as Sunetric adviser

Sunetric hired Joel Ranua as residential and commercial project consultant. He was previously senior project manager and regional manager of engineered environments with 21 years experience in the custom low-voltage industry and 13 years in project management.

Engineering firm SSFM International promoted Cheryl Soon to planning group director. She will oversee the firm's neighbor island harbor, roadway and bicycle/pedestrian projects as well as an update to the Statewide Transportation Plan. She was previously the chief planner and transportation director for the City and County of Honolulu.

The Waipahu Community Foundation awarded its quarterly (April to June 2009) grants totaling $19,962 to Waipahu Elementary School ($1,920), Kanoelani Elementary School ($4,777), Friends of the Waipahu Public Library ($1,900), Lighthouse Outreach Center ($4,250), Waipahu Community Association Project Graduation ($4,250) and Na Pa'ani Softball ($2,865).
