NM's special offers

The Hip Event returns to Neiman Marcus tomorrow and Saturday, with a focus on favorite women's contemporary sportswear and dress collection designers.

Those who spend $350 in either department at NM stores or at its Web site will receive a gift tote bag filled with designer goodies.

And, only at NM stores, those who spend $650 will also receive a turquoise-colored bangle from Tory Burch.

Only one tote will be given per customer, while supplies last.

 

Naturally beautiful

In anticipation of Earth Month next month, Sephora is hosting a Beauty Insider Naturals Event, focusing on natural and organic products, Saturday.

The all-day event at the Ala Moana and Pearlridge stores will offer information on the latest natural and organic products from brands such as Lavanila, Juice Beauty, Jurilque, Boscia, Skyn Iceland, Korres, Tarte and Ole Henriksen.

Sephora will also introduce its first organic palette, the Sephora PURE Wanderlust Edition, $36, a multi-purpose palette with shades that span the rainbow, for creating day and evening looks.

Sephora Pure Products contain at least 95 percent natural ingredients, at least 10 percent organic ingredients, and the palette is made with sustainable bamboo and recyclable metal.

 

Style on the move

If you can't come to the shop, the shop is coming to you. Fighting Eel will hit the road with a sample sale taking place noon to 4 p.m. Saturday on the North Shore.

The cash-only event will take place at a residence at 59-754 Kamehameha Highway. Call 524-1472 for more information.

Meanwhile, Hawaii Fashion Incubator and Hawaii RED magazine will also be introducing themselves to the Big Island community with a sustainable and homegrown fashion event, “;Green Style on the Big Isle,”; taking place April 10 and 11, sponsored by go! airline.

The public is invited to the Organik and Greendrinks-sponsored “;Greendrinks Green Style”; beginning at 8 p.m. at Mixx Bistro in Kona.

Then on April 11, HiFi will present an ECOmarket and fashion show at the NELHA Gateway renewable energy center, from noon to 5 p.m. The event will showcase local and sustainable designers, boutiques and beauty businesses. Admission is free. Organik, HonuGuide and Nella Media Group will host an after-party from 8 p.m. at Mixx Bistro for 21 or older. Gems at Sedona

Sedona will be hosting a Gem and Jewelry Trunk Show at Ward Centre from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.

The event will feature displays and sales of natural crystals, rare mineral specimens and stone carvings for collectors, as well as handmade jewelry set with colored gemstones. Pieces at the trunk show will be offered at dealer direct prices during the weekend. In addition, Sedona will donate a portion of the proceeds from its gem and jewelry show to the Hawai'i Foodbank.

 

Kids learn $ value

Children will get an early lesson in the value of money and objects during the Keiki Swap Meet taking place 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Children's Discovery Center, at 111 Ohe St.

The event was designed to be educational and fun, giving children responsibility for the work of pricing each of their items and handling the cash transactions in hope they grow up to be better at finances than their parents' generation.
