Mauna Kea books C&K for opening

The Mauna Kea Beach Hotel will mark its grand opening with a luau and Cecilio & Kapono concert, complete with lavish dinner and concert packages benefiting the Hawaii Community College Palamanui Campus.

The events take place over two days, beginning 6:30 p.m. March 27 and 28 on the hotel grounds at 62-100 Mauna Kea Beach Drive on the Big Island's Kohala Coast.

Friday's event features a “;Cuisines of the World”; dinner with entertainment by the jazz-fusion group Hiroshima. Saturday's luau will feature entertainment by C&K, one of Hawaii's most beloved contemporary groups.

The cost of each dinner and concert is $150 per person, or $1,500 for a table of 10. VIP tables for $2,000 include preferred seating, complimentary champagne and wine. All attendees will receive mementos both evening.
