Now in its ninth year, the annual Mardi Gras party hosted by the Honolulu Culture and Arts District along Nuuanu Avenue is one of the most highly-anticipated block parties of the year, and for good reason.

Police will close Nuuanu between King Street and Chaplain Lane from 6 to 10 p.m. so organizers can set up three stages and food booths. Along with DJ Sabo, Heltah Skeltah and other live performances, the party will feature two samba parades and four floats commissioned by the Warhol Foundation.

Admission is free, but $3 wristbands are required to consume alcohol.
