The victim, a 27-year-old man, found his camera being advertised on Craigslist and arranged to meet the seller, posing as a potential buyer, police said.

Warrior is charged in sexual assault

A 21-year-old University of Hawaii football player was charged yesterday for allegedly sexually assaulting a 20-year-old student last fall in her dormitory room on the Manoa campus.

Prosecutors charged UH cornerback JoPierre Davis with second-degree sexual assault and first-degree burglary. He was being held in lieu of $200,000 bail.

According to the police affidavit, Davis was an uninvited guest to the victim's birthday party held Sept. 30 in her and her friends' dorm rooms at Frear Hall.

Davis began groping her at the party, police said. When she demanded he leave, he reportedly refused.

She went to her room at about 1 to 1:30 a.m. Oct. 1 and awoke to find Davis allegedly sexually assaulting her, the affidavit said.

The woman told police she did not report the incident because she was extremely embarrassed and depressed, and afraid to tell her parents and worried how it would affect her schooling.

On Jan. 18, Davis allegedly groped her while she was dancing with friends at Zanzabar Night Club. She slapped him in the face and left the dance floor. He allegedly punched her in the mouth, causing her to fall to the ground and lose consciousness, police said.

The next thing the victim remembered was that she and a friend were filing a police report, police said.
