Hawaii Oscar party has early telecast

Tickets are on sale for the Hawaii International Film Festival's Oscar Night America party, coinciding with the 81st Academy Awards on Feb. 22.

HIFF will be airing an advance telecast allowing party guests to see the ceremony before others in the islands, and guests will walk their own red carpet at the Royal Hawaiian Hotel's Monarch Ballroom.

Arrivals and cocktail party begin at 4 p.m., with the telecast starting at 5 p.m.

There also will be a silent auction, including:

» An 18K white-gold Damiani necklace designed By Brad Pitt and Damiani “;D. Side”; round diamond pendant on an 18-inch double cable chain, valued at $2,590; starting bid $500.

» A 2008 Beijing Olympic commemorative book, CD and DVD autographed by Zhang Yimou, director of the opening ceremonies. Starting bid $50.

» “;Mad Men”; script autographed by the cast. Start: $50.

» “;Adaptation”; DVD autographed by actor Chris Cooper. Starting bid $50.

» “;The Queen”; DVD autographed by Helen Mirren. Starting bid $50.
