The Surfrider Foundation Oahu Chapter presented its 6th Annual John Kelly Environmental Achievement Awards to Shaun Tomson, Dave Rastovich, and Styrophobia.

Tomson, a former world champion surfer, received the Lifetime Achievement Award as an environmental activist and speaker for ocean conservation in Southern California, and as chairman of the advisory board for the Surfrider Foundation. Australia's Rastovich was given the Professional Surfer Award as a co-founder of Surfers for Cetaceans, an active member of the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society and Minds in the Water, and a campaign spokesman for Save the Whales Again.

Styrophobia was honored as the Environmentally Friendly Local Company for providing 100 percent compostable, biodegradable takeout containers to reduce the amount of disposables that clutter landfills, beaches and oceans.

Starwood Hotels & Resorts named Vickie Omura as director of sales and marketing for Sheraton Princess Kaiulani. She was previously director of sales for Starwood Hotels & Resorts Waikiki and has also served as regional account director and food and beverage secretary at Sheraton Makaha Resort & Country Club.
