Jewelry store unveils timely symbol of endless love

Elle Couture Jewellers will unveil the Infinity ring by jewelry designer Michael B., during an Infinity couture event taking place 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through next Thursday.

Just in time for Valentine's Day, the Infinity ring embodies eternal love with a twist of two inseparable bands of platinum, micro-paved with diamonds.

Also featured will be an exclusive showing of 2009 spring collection gowns by Paloma Blanca, presented by Joyce Coelho and Cecilia Domingo of The Bridal Boutique.

Those who purchase an Infinity ring will receive an organza and satin ribbon ring pillow from The Bridal Boutique, and the first 14 couples also will receive a bridal handkerchief from The Bridal Boutique.

FE's spring style

Designers Lan Chung and Rona Bennett of Fighting Eel will be debuting their Spring 2009 collection with a fashion show and trunk show at the Butik, 3 p.m. Sunday.

The public is invited to the show, with its Pop Art meets Spring Goddess sensibility, incorporating the sunny yellow of the season, including its appearance in an Andy Warhol-inspired banana print created by Bennett.

Attendees will also get a peek at the designers' Summer '09 collection, while getting the first picks of the Spring collection during the trunk show after the fashion show.

Pohl hosts Nokell

Terry Nokell, known in Washington as “;The Logger's Daughter,”; having grown up around her father's sawmill and logging business, will show her jewelry and clothing designs and clay masks during a trunk sale taking place at Louis Pohl Gallery, 1111 Nuuanu Ave., from 4 to 9 p.m. tomorrow, First Friday.

She has designed clothing for 15 years, with each item hand-sewn and featuring clay buttons fired in her kiln.

Her clay work will be on view at the gallery to the end of the month. Call 521-1812.

 

'Fleur't' with FM

Fashionista's Market will host its first event of 2009, “;Fleur't,”; taking place Saturday at Luana Hills Country Club.

The event will feature brands like Frankie B. Denim, Romeo & Juliet Couture, True Religion, Rich and Skinny, Paige, Ed Hardy, Christian Audigier, Marc Bower and more.

While shopping, sip complimentary cocktails from Kai Vodka, take time to enjoy massages from Heaven on Earth Day Spa or stop at Lena's Fab Brows' Brow Bar.

FM owner Alyssa Fung will also present “;Salvage,”; in which she will be dumping her closet and selling new and worn-once or twice garments at less than $15 per piece, with sales benefiting the Aloha United Way Early Childhood Development Program.

Buy for air miles

Pearlridge Center and Kahala Mall are teaming up to give customers quadruple HawaiianMiles beginning Monday to next Thursday and Feb. 16 to 19, with a “;Buy. Buy. Blue Sky!”; program.

Customers at either mall will earn four HawaiianMiles for each dollar spent at any shop, restaurant or theater on those dates. Same-day receipts must be redeemed between 10 a.m. and 9 p.m. on those dates, at the mall where purchases were made.

Customers must spend a minimum of $100 (excluding sales tax and tips) for the award, and present a HawaiianMiles card or know their account number. Up to 2,000 miles (representing $500 spent) may be earned per person per day. Miles awarded on purchases eventually returned will be removed.

Some purchases do not qualify for HawaiianMiles, including charge card payments, prescription co-pays and purchases of gift certificates. Additional restrictions could apply.
