Divorce to be topic at church seminar

The Catholic Church's positions on divorce and the requirements for annulment of marriage will be discussed at a Thursday seminar at St. Theresa School, 712 N. School St.

The 7 p.m. presentation, “;The Church Today: Changes Since Vatican II,”; by the Rev. John Berger, rector of Our Lady of Peace Cathedral, is part of a series of weekly sessions for nonpracticing Catholics who might have incorrect or incomplete information about church teaching, according to the Catholics Returning Home program.

The seminar is free and open to the public. Organizers ask that in order to plan for space, people should call the office, 521-1700, or Zee Oue, 349-6389, if they plan to attend.

Cathedral opens for meditation

The monthly First Friday festivities bring residents to downtown Honolulu to stroll to art galleries and restaurants.

A new “;Tea & Labyrinth”; program at St. Andrew's Cathedral will offer a different strolling opportunity. The church's labyrinth will be open from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Friday for people to participate in the traditional moving meditation. Participants follow the looping floor pattern to enter into silent contemplation. Green tea will be served. The event sponsored by the Kai Wellness Center at the Episcopal cathedral is free and open to the public.
