Chevron Hawaii's popular early morning coffee in Hawaii Kai was closed yesterday after a break in the water line in the station's parking lot at 7170 Kalanianaole Highway.

A leak was reported late Friday, and water was back on early yesterday for all affected except Chevron, said Board of Water Supply spokeswoman Su Shin. Additional work had to be done to restore water service to the Hawaii Kai station, but it was completed by about 3:30 p.m. yesterday, she said.

Another broken water pipe was repaired yesterday on Coral Street between Queen and Halekauwila streets in Kakaako, and McCully Street between Date and Citron streets finally reopened Friday after a main break. A planned water pipe repair job also was also finished at the foot of the hill going to Pacific Palisades.

“;It was just kind of concentrated this week and happened to be in areas with more high profile,”; Shin said. But statistically, she said, “;There are fewer breaks now than 10 years ago.”;
