$162,000 aids state's food banks

The Hawaii Community Foundation gave $162,360 to food banks and food pantries around the state in honor of this year's 20th anniversary of its donor-advised funds.

Contributors included the Sheridan and Julia Ing Fund and Gordon Russell Fund, Pierre and Pamela Omidyar Fund, Karen and David Stoutemyer Charitable Fund, Deviants from the Norm Fund, Growney Family Fund, Jim and Lynn Lally Family Fund, Muffles Fund, Rapozo Kama'aina Fund, Michael and Tomoko Malaghan Fund, Moonglow Fund, Dwayne and Marti Steele Fund, George C. and Nancy Wright Slain Fund, REC Fund-MCC, Oscar L. and Ernestine H. Armstrong Fund, Edward J. and Norma Doty Charitable Fund, Taketa Family Fund and HCF Staff - Walk the Talk Fund.

Also: Yoshinaga Family Fund, Takenaka Kauai Community Fund, Paul C.T. and Violet Shaw Loo Fund, Kosasa Family Fund, Krucky Ohana Fund, Stupski Family Fund, 2 Anonymous Funds, Aina-Nalu Charitable Fund, Makana o Maui and Kent and Polli Smith Fund.

Hualalai Resort named Karen Cosgrove as director of Hualalai Spa and Hualalai Sports Club.

She has more than 10 years of resort spa experience including the Ojai Valley Inn & Spa, Miraval Resort Tucson, the Ritz-Carlton Doha, Qatar and Sheraton Cairo, Egypt.

Ala Moana Hotel hired Kim Oshiro as food and beverage sales manager. She has more than 20 years in the tourism industry including leisure sales and divisional sales positions at the Prince Kuhio Hotel, Hyatt Hotels & Resorts, Outrigger Hotels & Resorts and Sheraton Hotels & Resorts.
