Local resident Terrence Burnett is taking things into his own hands in order to help raise money for the charitable organization Feed the Children.

“;Several months ago, I contacted Feed the Children to get permission (for) a special project fundraiser,”; he said. “;For many years I've watched Feed the Children infomercials and been saddened by the hunger issue we have in the world.”;

Burnett will host a night at the O Lounge on Sunday, with free pupus and giveaways from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. All proceeds will benefit Feed the Children.

Celebrate the inauguration of President-elect Barack Obama with a formal event that will benefit the Honolulu Gay and Lesbian Cultural Foundation.

Tuesday's “;Honolulu Rainbow Obama Inauguration Ball”; will get underway at 5 p.m. in the Queen Kapiolani Hotel's Peacock Room, with a feed of the inauguration on a big screen and live entertainment. Disc jockeys Rayne and G-Spot will be on hand to keep people dancing all night long.
