Lancers deal Raiders first league loss

Lindsey Bareng scored 17 points, including 11 of 13 free throws, to lead Sacred Hearts past host 'Iolani 63-57 last night.

The unranked Lancers outscored the sixth-ranked Raiders 19-6 in the third quarter to break open a close game and move into a tie for first place with Mid-Pacific and Punahou.

The previously undefeated Raiders had held Kamehameha and Punahou below 40 points each this year, but the Lancers exceeded that mark by the beginning of the fourth quarter.

Kylie Maeda had a game-high 20 points for the Raiders.

Tressa Torres scored 14 points and Janelle Nomura added eight as the Buffanblu held off a rally to beat the Warriors.

Punahou limited Kamehameha to two points in the first quarter, but the Warriors came back with 16 in the second to trim the halftime deficit to eight points.
