Following up on a 2006 show at NextDoor that didn't come off as planned due to illness, local drum and bass promoters Pacific Jungle host British DJs/producers Ed Rush and Optical for a headlining set at Pipeline Cafe this weekend.

They'll be joined on Saturday by 14 of Hawaii's best DJs, along with a special drum and bass-themed performance by local rapper Creed Chameleon. Cover is $20 at the door for this 18-and-over party; visit www.pacificjungle.com for the night's complete lineup.

Head back to Pipeline on Thursday for the first big reggae concert of 2009.

Washington, D.C.-based reggae band Soldiers of Jah Army (pictured) return to Oahu as part of their fourth annual Hawaiian Islands tour on Thursday. They'll have copies of a new performance DVD that was filmed here last year. Doors open at 9 p.m. for the 18-and-over crowd, with opening sets by Natural Vibrations and Konfrontation. Pacific Sounds Outernational also will be on hand.
