Whale-watching season is around the corner, so plan ahead to be among the first to cruise aboard the Star of Honolulu for its 2 1/2 -hour Premier Whale Watch Cruise, to be offered daily noon to 2:30 from Dec. 15 through April 30.

Star's four panoramic decks and 60-foot-high observation sun deck offer great views of the humpback whales that make their way here from Alaska each winter.

Plus, there will be educational and fun whale activities with the crew of certified naturalists, as well as Hawaiian cultural activities.

Whale sightings are guaranteed; guests receive a free return cruise ticket until a whale is spotted. (Meal and transportation are optional.)

Costs $39 for adults and $23.50 for children, 3 to 11. Call 983-STAR (7827). Kamaaina and military rates available.
