The author, a former Hawaii resident who now lives in San Jose, Calif., writes the “;Sushi Series”; of sassy contemporary romance novels about four AJA West Coast cousins. The stories combine chick lit with both Asian and Christian sensibilities.

The book turns on the adventures of Alexis Sakai, a fiercely independent manufacturing engineer and volleyball enthusiast who's looking for love because her grandmother is making her.
