Beaujolais bounty

Du Vin celebrates the release of this year's beaujolais nouveau with a wine dinner at 6 p.m. tomorrow.

The menu: Penn Cove Mussels (with Cambria “;Katherine's Vineyard”; Chardonnay 2005); Honey-Glazed Scallops (Zilliken Riesling 2006); and Tea-Smoked Duck Breast (Paul Bocuse Beaujolais Nouveau 2008).

Mahi on the menu

When he's not in the kitchen, chef Hiroshi Fukui enjoys open-water fishing, and on a good day, the catch will include a good haul of mahimahi.

Through Wednesday he's offering a tasting menu of mahi: Mahimahi Ceviche, Mahimahi Panko-Crusted, choice of Mahimahi Kabayaki-Style Chazuke or Mahimahi Pan-Roasted, plus dessert of Cherie's “;Frappapuff”; (no mahi).

Beachy bargain

Beachhouse at the Moana celebrates its first birthday on Friday with a three-course menu for $19.01.

Why the odd price? Because the Moana Hotel opened in 1901.

Chef Rodney Uyehara's menu is built on classic dishes of that time: Appetizers of Cheese Straws and Stuffed Fried Green Olives; entree choice of Filet of Sole a la Sauce Nantua, Tenderloin of Beef a la Portuguese or Roasted Duck a la 'Orange; and dessert of Neapolitan ice cream.

Totally Tudor

The Pineapple Room showcases the wines of Tudor Wines of Monterrey, Calif., in a dinner on Dec. 3. Dan Tudor will introduce the wines from his family's vineyards.

The menu, by chefs Alan Wong and Lance Kosaka: Grilled Farm Raised Kampachi (with Rose of Pinot Noir, Radog, 2006), “;Pork Terrine”; Petit Salad (Gewurztraminer, Radog, 2006), Ginger-Crusted Onaga (Riesling, Radog, 2007), Maui Cattle Co. Beef Tudor Pinot Noir, 2005, and “;Tondre”; Pinot Noir, 2005) and dessert of Peanut Butter Crunch.
